Most students are excited to go to college because of the freedom and independence that comes with the experience. It is the period when most young people move out of their parents’ house so they can move into living spaces that are much nearer to the universities they’re attending. Many students look for accommodations even before the academic year begins. In most cases, they choose a housing unit near their university or school.

In Idaho, for instance, students can choose between in-campus lodging and off-campus housing. In-campus units are accommodations within university premises. They are run and managed by the institution’s authorities. On the other hand, off-campus housing units are located outside schools and universities. These units may be apartments or houses that offer exclusive accommodation for students.

Some prefer in-campus housing to off-campus housing. The former offers convenient and cozy rooms and units. It has complete facilities and amenities for students. In-campus housing such as dormitories and residence halls are conveniently located within school premises, making it easy for students to come to their classes on time. By living in in-campus housing, students do not need to wake up early just to get to the university. Their classes are just a few minutes’ walk away from their living spaces.

In contrast to this, some students opt to live outside the university and stay in off-campus housing units. These units are similar to in-campus housing spaces, but they are managed by private owners and landlords. Some housing units such as BYU Idaho off campus housing have high-tech facilities and equipment like wireless Internet connection and HD satellite networks. This enables leasers to freely use the Internet uninterruptedly for research and recreation.

Schools and universities want to take part in securing and protecting their students’ welfare. This is why university authorities coordinate with private owners and landlords of off-campus housing units in setting up security measures in the housing facilities. For example, Brigham Young University (BYU) implements policies and guidelines to ensure safety of students in BYU Idaho off campus housing units.

Educational institutions endorse off-campus accommodations that adhere to basic housing standards and directives. For instance, BYU provides its students with a comprehensive list of approved BYU Idaho housing units that are available for occupancy.
