Guide on Approved Housing

If your age is 30 and below, you will be required to live in the appropriate approved housing that will be sponsored by the school itself. Unless you are living with your parents, that is one of the known exceptions in this guide. If you wish to live with a relative instead, you should fill up and submit a request form that will petition an exception for you, should it be approved by the exceptions committee then you are good to go. Violation of the said arrangements will receive an automatic restriction on your account.

You may have decided to go through with this anyway; you need to know if you are qualified to live in an approved housing. First rule is that all single students are required to live there, regardless of your status unless you are married. If you are attending the university and if you have been admitted to a certain track you are also qualified for this. If you are living near or in the Rexburg area, even if you are off-track you are also qualified to live in this kind of housing.

To know if you are not eligible, here are some guidelines. As said above, if you are married you will not be eligible for this. For those who are widows, widowers, divorced or married but his/her spouse is away for military duty are also disqualified to avail of this housing.

Since this will be stated in the byu Idaho approved housing contract, those said students who will lose their eligibility to stay and live in those houses must move out to a new house within the duration of three days. This rule will include those who have been dismissed for violation of student honor conduct or if they have been evicted from the house.

If you would prefer to be granted an exception to the said policy then you must complete the request form that must be submitted to the office of the byu Idaho apartments for further review. As stated above, if you are living with your parents that will grant you an automatic exception.

If you are one of those students who were previously ineligible due to certain circumstances such as divorce but still interested with living in byu Idaho apartments, you must fill up an exception form. Should it not be granted you will be sent in a community housing instead.
